Steroid shot fungal infection

Thank you for writing this, it’s so helpful and informative. I’m now eyeballing all of the products in my stash for problem ingredients.
One product I have that lists urea as the third ingredient is Eucerin’s Intensive Repair Extra Enriched Hand Cream. Lactic acid is also further down on the list. It does also contain glyceryl stearate and peg 40 stearate though, but everything else on the list looks pretty harmless. I wonder if the high urea content renders those ingredients less problematic? But the pH tests around 7, I guess b/c it contains aluminum starch octenylsuccinate. Not sure, but I was thinking of trying a small amount of this on a damp face after cleansing.

Update! Went to ANOTHER derm today and FINALLY had a skin scrape done of my forehead, cheek and chin. He also pulled a few hairs off the top of my head. After examing everything under a microscope, he said that I had some sort of hair folicle condition that he has seen quite a few cases of and asked if I used artifical sweetners. I said “NO”. I am dead-set against anything artifical in my food. I never drink anything diet. He then asked me if I took vitamins and if so what did they look like? He said that certain dyes could trigger this as well. He also said one Altoid mint a month could cause this folicle reaction to occur. He has told me to avoid any and all artifcial sweetners, no vitamins for a month and put me on Nizoral (the pink stuff that is a stronger formula than over the counter blue stuff) and some sort of steriodal scalp foam. He did not take an eye lash sample, grrrr. He told me to use baby shampoo on my eyes and to possibly see an eye doctor for the itchy eyes. If I do not see any major improvement, I will insist that he do another skin scrape as I hear you sometimes need multiple ones for an accurate diagnosis (is this true?). Would a superficial skin scrape show any signs of a parasite condition, if I had one? Have you heard of this folicle condition?

Hi there! Thanks so much for the tip. I have a 15-20lb beagle mix and a 70lb golden lab. The lab has had a skin condition for YEARS! Complete with hotspots and constant scratching. And our vet(s) have not been able to figure it out. I tried treating for food allergies, fleas/ticks/mites, fungus, and so many other ‘suggestions’. And the little beagle is showing signs of (what I’ve been told) doggie eczema. So….I have tired garlic….I’m going to start today and will update on my progress. Question, can I give them a garlic supplement? Or is fresh garlic preferred?
Thanks again for your post.

My itching started 10 days after giving birth to my son. my obgyn said it was not Pupp because “Pupp only occurs during prgnancy.” So I went to my family doctor and he said he had treated 3 cases of Pupp after delivery and he was sure what I had was Pupp. He prescribed prednisone for 7 days and the itch went away after day two. However 3 days after i finioshed the dosage, the itch came back. Its been two weeks since then and I am still itching. Hot compresses before bed seem to give me enough relief for me to fall asleep.
